FORGET

A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT

This issue marks the one year anniversary of our magazine's creation. It's also had the most chaotic editing process yet. With the introduction of new editors, the leaving of old ones, and the majority of our senior editors preoccupied with college applications, sailing has been anything but smooth. We're all looking ahead to the future -- new lives, new schools, new worlds. But before we jump in, it's good to think of the past. Nostalgia can be dangerous, sure, but sometimes before we leap we need to sit with where we came from. Rest with our old selves before moulting into our new ones.

Time is a rushing river. If we refuse to move on we'll lose parts of ourselves, chipped away like sediment. By looking back, we carry with us into the current the sentiment of our souls -- our loves, our delights, our longings. Thank you, creators, for sharing them with us. For letting us keep vigil, keeping these memories burning bright.

“Sometimes, taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind.”
― Arcane, S02E07 ("Pretend Like It's the First Time")
