The Path to Nowhere

As the start of a new journey begins, the routes that the path you take is uncertain. Perhaps you have thought that your destination was certain, perhaps you are just blindingly walking down a path hoping for the best. For me, it is more of the latter — starting a new journey with no clue about what to expect. And the concept was part of what inspired this illustration. Another inspiration for this piece is the sights we see daily, a mix of your own experiences and what can be shown to you by the internet. The narrow sidewalk we walk along while avoiding the busy road, the skeleton flower that turns translucent when water hits its petals (that I saw on the internet) — all tied together in a surreal setting where neither would likely exist if it was the real world. Through this, I want this piece have a whimsical atmosphere while keeping the colors vibrant and fresh.
